Prodigy Athletes Offered Scholarships by UCLA
June 7, 2010 - Prodigy Athletes Su'a Cravens and Jeremy Castro were offered a full ride scholarship to UCLA today. Coach Rick Neuhausil offered Su'a after he dominated the Class of 2011 and 2012 recruits in UCLA's Skills Elite Camp. Su'a is only a freshman, Class of 2013, but was clearly faster and more physical than the rest of the field. UCLA likes Su'a at the Safety position, but he proved to be the dominant Linebacker at the Elite camp as well. Jeremy dominated the Defensive Ends at the Elite camp, and will only be a junior next year. His size, strength and speed are all contributing factors to the excitement surrounded around Jeremy as a recruit. Both go to Vista Murrieta, both have 3.25 GPA and better, and both Su'a and Jeremy were standouts at the AIGA 7 on 7 Memorial Event on May 29, playing for the Prodigy Athletes team.

Troy,

You are doing a great job with these kids. They are fine young men and terrific ballplayers to boot. We are excited about Brent. We need help on the offensive line and I think he can be a quick impact kind of player. Su'a is quite a phenom for his age and the sky is the limit. We are thrilled that he likes UCLA. And Jeremy is also going to be a heck of a player. He is a great athlete with a competitive edge and a high motor. All of these kids fit into what we are doing at UCLA and we would be happy to have them all. Thanks again Troy. I will email you the fliers for the next camps in a couple weeks.

Have a good night, Pat

At the UCLA visit, Prodigy Athletes were separated into 2 groups and given tours of the campus, athletic facilities, and were allowed on the practice field to follow their respective position coaches around the various drills. All the coaches stayed to take pictures and talk with Prodigy Athletes following practice. At the Spring Game visit, Prodigy Athlete Brent Walker of NORCO HS was offered a full scholarship. Under the goal post opposite the Big Screen of the Rose Bowl, Brent gave Coach Lau a hug and thanked him for working with the UCLA staff in recruiting him. Prodigy Athletes would like to thank Recruiting Coordinator Pat Girardi for all his hard work in being a Prodigy advocate.

At Cal Berkeley Prodigy Athletes got to tour the athletic facilities and see Coach LaReylle Cunningham in 5 Bowl Posters. Coach Al Simmons played host and has been a long time Prodigy advocate. Prior to practice Prodigy Athletes took the brief time in their schedule to eat at the famous Zachary's Pizza in Berkeley, and then ran 10 laps on the Stadium bleachers. Several over achievers ran 15, including freshman standout Su'a Cravens, Heritage star Donavon Adams and starting corner back of the CIF Champs, Dylan Valentine. The Prodigy Linemen were led by Chaparral standout Tyrone Knight, Brandon Sattelmaier (offered by Miles College), followed by Beau Boyster of St. John Bosco (offered by Oregon State). Prodigy Athletes were encouraged to follow their position coaches on the practice field.

Stanford rolled out the red carpet as Prodigy Athletes began with an academic meeting that explained the Stanford Academic standard. Prodigy Athletes were then split up into their respective positions and joined the Cardinals in their position specific team meetings. Spring practice followed and Coach Harbaugh made sure to take the time to meet each of our athletes and take pictures with the group.

San Jose State University was the last to host Prodigy Athletes and was a very nice ending to a great trip. The coaches were very personable, and Coach Kinji Green has always been a big Prodigy proponent. He made sure that each of our athletes met their respective position coaches including soon to be Hall of Fame Defensive End, Bryant Young. A very special thanks to Head Coach Mike MacIntyre who came to speak to the attending Prodigy families following practice and for introducing us to the largest burritos this side of the equator. Brandon Sattelmaier finished a 2.5 pound burrito with room for more... next time he will attempt their 5 pound burrito!

The Champion's Prayer

Our founder wrote this prayer for his student athletes, in which a leader will say the first line and the others will recite the second.

My Enemy hates my Leadership.
I will always do what’s right.

My Enemy attacks the Weak.
I will be my brother’s keeper.

My Enemy boasts and relies on Talent.
I will pay the Price.

My Enemy will use my trials and tribulations.
I will never quit.

My Enemy constantly defines my Limits.
I will never say the “C” word.

My Enemy hopes that Pain will stop me.
Pain is weakness leaving my body.

My Enemy waits for me to Fail.
With every fall, I will get up, and be stronger.

My Enemy is within Me.
I will master myself with Discipline; and when my Enemy thinks I’m beat, I will rise and take my Victory.

And the Champions say…
Amen.
